The role in a nutshell

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Flutter Engineer to architect and build exceptional mobile applications. As the lead Flutter engineer on our projects, your primary focus will be delivering high-quality mobile applications, leading and mentoring other less experienced team members, ensuring technical excellence and coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure.

What you can expect

  • Take an active part in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, estimation, documentation, development, testing, bug fixing and support.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers and clients to define, design and ship innovative mobile experiences.
  • Contribute to UX decisions, as well as proactively improving project processes and methodologies.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Take a technical leadership role within the project and mentor other team members.
  • Establish best practices, coding standards and development workflows to improve team efficiency and maintain high code quality.

The type of person we’d like to meet

  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development, preferably in mobile technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial Flutter products.
  • Proficiency in Dart programming language and the major state management approaches (BLoC, Provider, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of both iOS and Android and their respective languages (Swift/Kotlin).
  • Ability to write maintainable and testable code, with a good understanding of unit testing and its value.
  • Proficient in working with version control (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, GitLab).
  • Deep familiarity with App Store Connect, TestFlight, Apple Developer Console and Google Play Console.
  • Proven track record of successful iOS and Android projects.
  • Great command of English (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead development teams, mentor engineers and cultivate a supportive team culture.
  • Strong decision-making skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with native mobile development (iOS/Android).
  • Strong interest in mobile technologies and a good understanding of general mobile architectures, trends and new technologies.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD systems and pipelines.
  • Experience working with SCRUM/Agile methodologies.

Interview process at Kin+Carta

Here’s what to expect from the interview process at Kin + Carta: 

Intro Call with the Talent Team (30 mins) – If your skills and experience match the role requirements, our Talent team will contact you to arrange a Zoom call.  This call aims to get to know you and for you to find out more about Kin + Carta. This call can be held either by telephone or over Zoom. After this call, if we feel like you are a good match for the role, you’ll be invited to a first-stage interview.

First-Stage Interview (90 minutes) - This will typically be a Q&A-style interview, lasting approximately 90 minutes. This process is designed to help our team find out about your skills and experience but also what you enjoy and what motivates you. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask our team questions and learn more about us!

Technical Task -  We send you a technical assessment that is designed to show us how you approach a key task and give you a further understanding of the type of work you’ll be doing here.

Making a Decision - Following the interview process, our hiring team will get together to discuss feedback and make a final decision. We aim to get back to you as soon as we possibly can! 

Our average recruitment process takes around three to four weeks. You will be assigned a dedicated member of our Talent team to support you throughout the process.
